Collaboration to Offer Advanced Connectivity Between the R7 Tool by WinField United and the Climate FieldView Platform

SASKATOON, SK (November 13, 2018) — WinField United Canada and The Climate Corporation, a subsidiary of Bayer, are further enhancing their current collaboration by implementing a two-way, crossnavigation exchange between the R7® Tool, the WinField United decision-ag solution, and The Climate Corporation’s Climate FieldView™ platform in Canada.

“Our aim is to help foster faster adoption of ag technology so retailers can use those capabilities to help farmers make more profitable and agronomically sound decisions,” said Greg McDonald, general manager, WinField United Canada. “Technology has the potential to enhance local agronomy by equipping farmers and ag retailers with timely, accurate information for in-season management decisions.”

The new enhancements allow ag retailers and farmers to capitalize on the combined strengths of each decision ag platform. With farmer consent, there will be seamless flow of as-applied data collected from the tractor in Climate FieldView to the R7 Tool used by local agronomists. By reducing data entry requirements and potential for error in the data entry, farmers will see improved efficiency, accuracy and value from both tools.

“With these enhancements, the R7 Tool and the Climate FieldView platform can be used in a synergistic way,” said McDonald. “For example, the field-applied information collected from Climate FieldView will automatically populate within the R7 Tool to make in-season decision tools functional and accurate. By automating this step, farmers can quickly begin to monitor crop development and input requirements for optimal yield potential.”

“Easy data integration between the Climate FieldView platform and retailer software systems is an important step in enabling farmers and their trusted advisors to collectively make data-driven decisions with confidence,” said Denise Hockaday, Canada business lead for The Climate Corporation. “We’re thrilled to have a data connectivity partnership between the Climate FieldView platform and the R7 Tool so independent ag retailers in the WinField United system can easily navigate between the two platforms for a more collaborative experience with their Climate FieldView customers.”
